Academic Credential Evaluation (“ACE”) to Evaluate a Foreign Degree for Worker Visas

An Academic Credential Evaluation (“ACE”) is obtained from an organization which evaluates that the foreign education of a degree abroad is equivalent to the education of a U.S. degree.

USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) requires a copy of an official ACE equivalency for degree(s) awarded outside the U.S.

IMG_degreeAn employer/petitioner needs to verify if the employee’s secured degree(s) was obtained in the U.S. or not. If the qualifying degree(s) was not earned within the U.S., the employee will need to secure the ACE.  The employee can consult the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (“NACES”)  online for a list of evaluators. NACES is an association of private and independent foreign educational credentials evaluation services committed to formulating and maintaining ethical standards in the field of foreign educational evaluation.

NOTE: Any credentials not originally in English will also require official translations (employee’s personal translations are not acceptable).

ACE are most often used for the following nonimmigrant worker visa applications: H-1B, TN, O-1, and E-3.

The Law Office of Rose H Robbins will be pleased to assist you in all aspects of the nonimmigrant worker visa application.
